Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information is collected when you visit nifal.tech or contact me, how it is used, and the choices you have. In this policy, "I", "me" and "my" refer to Muhammed Nifal C H, a software engineer and AI consultant based in Malappuram, Kerala, India, who runs this website.

What I collect

Information you choose to send

The website has no sign-up and no contact form. If you get in touch, I receive what you send through the channel you choose:

• Email (info@nifal.tech): your name, email address and message.
• WhatsApp: the WhatsApp buttons open WhatsApp with a pre-filled message to my number (for example, naming the service you were reading about). Nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp; you can edit or delete the message first. If you send it, I receive your WhatsApp name, number and message.
• Phone: your number and anything you tell me on the call.
• Booking a call: the "Book a call" buttons open a Google Calendar booking page, where you enter your name, email and the time you choose.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use it: which pages are viewed, how people arrive (for example, from a search engine), and general device, browser and approximate location information (country or city). Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_<ID>) to tell visits apart.

To keep the site fast, Google Analytics is not loaded straight away: it starts only after you interact with the page (a click, tap, key press or scroll wheel) or after about six seconds. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. I use this information only in aggregate, to improve the site and its content, not for advertising.

Where this website is hosted

nifal.tech is hosted on Netlify (Netlify, Inc., San Francisco, United States). Netlify stores the website's files and serves every page through its global content delivery network (CDN), so your browser connects to a nearby Netlify server, which may be outside your country.

When you load a page, Netlify automatically processes technical information needed to deliver it and protect it from abuse: your IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, your browser and device type, and the referring page. These are standard server logs; I don't use them to identify visitors. Netlify's handling of this data is described in the Netlify Privacy Policy.

Every page is served only over HTTPS, so the connection between your browser and the site is encrypted.

How I use information

• To reply to your enquiry, discuss a potential project and provide services you ask for.
• To schedule and hold calls you book.
• To understand which pages and articles are useful, and to improve the website.
• To keep the website secure and working properly.

I do not sell personal information, and I do not use it for third-party advertising.

Legal basis

Where data protection laws require a legal basis, I rely on:

• Your request or a contract: to respond to enquiries and provide services.
• Legitimate interests: to run, secure and improve the website, in a way that respects your privacy.
• Consent: where the law requires it, for example for analytics cookies in some countries. You can withdraw consent at any time (see "Your choices").

Who processes your information

Information is processed by the services that make this website and my communication work:

These providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States, under their own privacy policies and safeguards.

How long I keep information

• Enquiries and project communication: as long as needed to respond and, if we work together, for the duration of the work and any period required for accounting or legal reasons.
• Analytics data: for the retention period configured in Google Analytics, after which it is deleted automatically.
• Server logs: kept by Netlify for a short period under its standard retention, then deleted.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, and the UK and EU GDPR, you may have the right to:

• access the personal information I hold about you;
• ask me to correct or delete it;
• withdraw consent or object to certain processing;
• complain to your local data protection authority.

To make a request, email info@nifal.tech. I will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law.

You can also control analytics yourself: block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use a browser or extension that blocks trackers, or install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The website works fully without analytics cookies.

Security

The site is static (there is no database of visitor accounts), it is served only over HTTPS, and it sends security headers that limit what other sites can do with its pages. Email and messages you send me are kept in secured, password-protected accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

This website is intended for businesses and professionals. It is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Links to other websites

Articles and pages link to other websites, such as client sites and documentation. Their privacy practices are their own; please read their policies.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy as the website or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
